STIPE'S REPORT
RACE 6 [TF1071]
KRANJI STAKES C 1700M

PERFECT CHALLENGER (O Chavez) and SUNNY (E Aslam) were both slow to
begin.

Near the 300m, PERFECT CHALLENGER was disappointed for a run to the
inside of BRILLIANT DEAL (A Munro), which shifted inwards under pressure.

Near the 200m, PERFECT CHALLENGER was again disappointed for a run
when ACCOMPLISHED (S John) shifted inwards under pressure.

Jockey I Azhar reported that SWEET LODGE was not striding out freely. A
subsequent veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormality.

Jockey Chavez, when questioned regarding the run of PERFECT
CHALLENGER, stated that after jumping from the inside barrier with the slow
early pace, he found himself in a position on the rails and unable to improve
as he would have preferred to do so in the middle stages. He felt that
PERFECT CHALLENGER would have been better suited if he was able to
obtain a position on the outside of the field and improved from the 800m as
he stated that PERFECT CHALLENGER was a horse that was reluctant to
improve when racing to the inside of other runners. Thereafter, in the
straight, he was also disappointed for a clear run on a couple of occasions.
His explanation was noted. Jockey Chavez also reported that PERFECT
CHALLENGER was not striding out freely. A subsequent veterinary
examination revealed that the horse returned as a roarer. PERFECT
CHALLENGER will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary
examination prior to being entered to race again.
