STIPE'S REPORT
RACE 4 [TF141]
INITIATION SC (D) 1200M

LIVE WELL (M Nunes), which was fractious in the barrier, was taken out and
examined by the Veterinary Surgeon. Acting on veterinary advice, it was
withdrawn by order of Panel of Stewards at 1417Hrs. LIVE WELL will be
required to pass one starting stall test and a veterinary examination prior to
being declared to race again in terms of MRA Rule 78(2).

BOB (A Munro), which was restless in the barrier, was taken out and
examined by the Veterinary Surgeon. Acting on veterinary advice that BOB
had blood in one nostril, it was withdrawn by order of Panel of Stewards at
1420Hrs. In terms of MRA Regulation 24.2, it must be presented to an
Official Veterinary Surgeon prior to being declared to race again. Trainer L
Laxon was advised that a warning has been placed on BOB regarding its
barrier manners and to take steps to improve them or action may be taken in
future.

ONWATS APP (E Aslam), which was difficult to be loaded into the barrier, will
be required to pass one starting stall test prior to being declared to race
again in terms of MRA Rule 78(2).

Shortly after the start, JUSEAGLEYE (App WL Tan) was bumped heavily when
MONEY KING (S John) shifted inwards and away from CLASSIC EFFECT.

WINNING STAR (L Allpress) was difficult to settle in the backstraight.

Shortly after passing the 800m, TIGER STRIPES (CW Brown) got its head up
after racing keenly when being steadied off the heels of PERFECT PREDATOR
(I Santana).

Approaching the turn into the straight, TIGER STRIPES was disappointed for
a run between ONWATS APP and CLASSIC EFFECT. WINNING STAR, which
was following, had to be steadied in consequence.

Passing the 100m, JUSEAGLEYE had to be eased after racing up onto the
heels of CLASSIC EFFECT, which was giving ground.

Trainer M Yusof, when questioned regarding the apparent improved
performance of ONWATS APP, stated that the only reason he could give was
that it was the geldings first start on the turf and it may have appreciated
this type of racing surface. His explanation was noted.

Jockey Flores, when questioned regarding the run of CLASSIC EFFECT, stated
that the mare never travelled well and failed to respond when placed under
pressure. He also added that CLASSIC EFFECT was not striding out freely.
His explanation was noted. CLASSIC EFFECT was impounded for routine
veterinary and analytical examination. The Veterinary Surgeon reported no
apparent abnormality.
