RACE 8 [TF1609]
KRANJI STAKES C 1200M

Approaching the 1100m, PERFECT CHARGER (O Chavez) got its head up after
being eased off the heels of KAISER (KB Soo), which shifted inwards.

MACHFIVE (I Saifudin) and PACINO (V Leal) both raced wide from the 800m.

Shortly after making the turn into the straight, SINGLE ACT (App R Shafiq)
had to be taken outwards to obtain clear running. Thereafter, SINGLE ACT
had a tendency to lay outwards under pressure.

Near the 100m, Jockey A Munro, the rider of CORONET PEAK, dropped his
whip. He was subsequently warned that a repetition of dropping his whip
may lead to a penalty being imposed in future.

Jockey Chavez, when questioned regarding the run of PERFECT CHARGER,
stated that he was instructed if there was pace in the early stages to attempt
to sit in a position just off the pace. He also stated that after jumping, he
was aware that Jockey Soo on KAISER to his outside was pushing forward, as
such, he eased his mount. Shortly after, he noticed CORONET PEAK was also
going forward. Then he expected a fast pace with KAISER and CORONET
PEAK, both contending for the lead as such, he was content to race off the
pace as instructed. When questioned regarding racing three wide, he
advised that he was not overly concerned as PERFECT CHARGER was
travelling well. However, when he commenced to place PERFECT CHARGER
under pressure from the 600m, it failed to respond significantly and
disappointed. His explanation was noted. PERFECT CHARGER was
impounded for routine veterinary and analytical examination. The Veterinary
Surgeon reported no apparent abnormality.
