SUPER SIX (KT Cheng) and SPIN FIRE (App R Hasri) bumped on jumping.
POWERFUL FIGHTER (I Saifudin) and LUCKY STRATEGY (A Munro) were both
crowded on jumping between AERO WINGS JUNIOR (WH Lao) and PERFECT
CHALLENGER (O Chavez), which jumped awkwardly outwards.
JET COSMO (App J See) was slow to begin after jumping away awkwardly.
Near the 1000m, SPIN FIRE was crowded to the inside of PERFECT
CHALLENGER, which shifted inwards when racing greenly to the inside of
AERO WINGS JUNIOR.
Approaching the 800m, SPIN FIRE and PERFECT CHALLENGER both lost
ground when crowded to the inside of LUCKY STRATEGY, which rolled
inwards. Jockey Munro was subsequently shown the film of the incident and
warned to exercise greater care when shifting ground in future.
Approaching the 600m, PERFECT CHALLENGER shifted outwards away from
the heels of SUPER SIX and in so doing, inconvenienced OUR RIVER DANCER
(App R Shafiq). PERFECT CHALLENGER then got its head up when being
SUPER SIX was difficult to settle in the middle stages.
PERFECT CHALLENGER made contact with OUR RIVER DANCER on a couple of
occasions in the early part of the straight. Near the 200m, PERFECT
CHALLENGER was then inconvenienced and had to be taken inwards when
disappointed for a run between OUR RIVER DANCER and LUCKY STRATEGY,
which rolled outwards under pressure.
AERO WINGS JUNIOR laid inwards under pressure over the final 100m.
The Farrier reported that LUCKY STRATEGY returned having cast its near-fore
Jockey Chavez, when questioned regarding the run of PERFECT
CHALLENGER, stated that after the start, he rode his mount along to obtain a
more forward position, however, lost ground when crowded near the 800m.
He further stated that near the 600m, PERFECT CHALLENGER got its head up
when being eased when making contact with OUR RIVER DANCER. Then for
a short distance thereafter, he felt PERFECT CHALLENGER was unbalanced
and not striding freely and he did not unduly pressure the gelding. He added
that PERFECT CHALLENGER also had difficulty obtaining a clear run in the
straight. His explanation was noted. Jockey Chavez reported that PERFECT
CHALLENGER was not striding out freely. PERFECT CHALLENGER was
impounded for routine veterinary and analytical examination. The Veterinary
Surgeon confirmed that PERFECT CHALLENGER returned not striding out
