RACE 4 [TF937]

On Sunday, 18 August 2013, the Stewards concluded an Inquiry into the
reasons for CERIUM (J Powell) having to check when racing between SUI
GENERIS (G Cheyne) to its inside and REAL MEAN (M Nunes) and LUCKY
LION (I Santana) to its outside near the 200m. It was established that near
the 200m, REAL MEAN made contact with CERIUM after shifting inwards and
away from LUCKY LION. Shortly after, LUCKY LION rolled inwards
marginally, resulting in REAL MEAN being carried inwards and crowding
CERIUM, which had to check. In the circumstances, no blame could be
attributed to any rider and as such, no further action was taken.

RACE 4 [TF937]

On Sunday, 18 August 2013, the Stewards concluded an Inquiry into the
reasons for REAL MEAN and SUPER SIX (I Saifudin) both having to check
when racing between LUCKY LION to its outside and SACRED GENERAL (KB
Soo) to its inside approaching the 100m. It was established that
approaching the 100m, LUCKY LION rolled inwards and SACRED GENERAL
rolled outwards, resulting in REAL MEAN and SUPER SIX having to be eased.
In the circumstances, no blame could be attributed to any rider and as such,
no further action was taken.

SUNDAY, 28 JULY 2013:

RACE 1 [TF986]

At the conclusion of an Inquiry on Sunday, 18 August 2013, Jockey I
Santana, the rider of GOLD RUN, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding
under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding GOLD RUN in Race 1 at the
Singapore Turf Club Meeting on Sunday, 28 July 2013, near the 1200m, he
allowed his mount to shift inwards, when insufficiently clear, thereby carrying
CONVICT (App K AIsisuhairi) in onto CLARITY (App Z Zuriman) crowding
that gelding, which checked and lost ground. When deciding on penalty, the
Stewards took into account his record, guilty plea and the degree of
interference and carelessness. Jockey Santana was suspended from riding in
races with immediate effect from Sunday, 18 August 2013 to Sunday,
25 August both dates inclusive (three Singapore Race Days) and was advised
of his Right of Appeal.
