STIPE'S REPORT
RACE 7 [TF767]
OPEN BENCHMARK 83 1200M

Acting on veterinary advice that FINDERSKEEPERS (J Verenzuela) was found
to be lame off-fore, the Panel of Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 2119Hrs.
In terms of MRA Regulation 24.2, it must be presented to an Official
Veterinary Surgeon prior to being declared to race again.

CALIFORNIAN JET (A Munro) was difficult to be loaded into the barrier.
Trainer C Brown was advised that a warning has been placed on
CALIFORNIAN JET regarding its barrier manners and to take steps to improve
them or action may be taken in future.

CALIFORNIAN JET was slow to begin after jumping away awkwardly.

BIRTHDAY GIFT (O Chavez) and BAZINGA (App R Shafiq) were both slow to
begin.

Near the 800m, DAVIDE (B Vorster) had to eased outwards away from the
heels of SICHUAN RULER (J Powell), which shifted inwards, resulting in
CAVALLO (J Moreira) also being slightly inconvenienced. Jockey Powell was
subsequently shown the film of the incident and warned to exercise greater
care when shifting ground in future.

Jockey C Brown, the rider of HAMMER DOWN, reported that he felt that there
was something amiss with the gelding and he eased it down over the
concluding stages. The Veterinary Surgeon subsequently reported that
HAMMER DOWN bled. In terms of MRA Rule 92(3), it will not be permitted to
canter or gallop on the main training tracks of any racecourse for a period of
two months, and may not start in any race for a period of three months, and
then only after having satisfactorily passed a bleeders test.
