SINGAPORE FEBRUARY MEETING 2013
SUNDAY, 17 FEBRUARY 2013:
RACE 2 [TF239]
On Wednesday, 27 February 2013, the Stewards concluded an Inquiry into
the reasons for DOMENICO (B Vorster) having to check whilst racing to the
inside of DONTWASTEMYTIME (KB Soo) and TWIST OLIVER (S King) passing
the 800m. It was established that DONTWASTEMYTIME was racing keenly in
the early and middle stages. Approaching the 600m, DONTWASTEMYTIME,
which had a tendency to lay inwards, shifted in and away from TWIST
OLIVER, despite the efforts of its rider to straighten his mount, resulting in
DOMENICO being crowded and having to be severely checked. In the
circumstances, no blame could be attributed to any rider and as such, no
further action was taken.
SINGAPORE MARCH MEETING 2013
FRIDAY, 01 MARCH 2013:
RACE 10 [TF295]
Jockey J Moreira, the rider of GOLDEN SAND STEED, explained that his
mount, which had been restless in its barrier stall, began awkwardly,
resulting in him becoming unbalanced and the horse being steadied. He
added that after settling back in the field, his mount travelled well but had a
tendency to lay inwards. He further stated that when riding his mount along
and trying to improve his position, he had to check GOLDEN SAND STEED
when SIR FLEETWOOD (App TH Koh) shifted outwards slightly when
weakening near the 350m. After steering his horse outwards to gain clear
running, he stated that he again had to check near the 200m due to
SHINKANSEN (KT Cheng) shifting outwards.
