STIPE'S REPORT
RACE 9 [TF9]
NEW YEAR CUP
SPORE-G3 1900M

THE RUDE WARRIOR (I Saifudin) was slow to begin.

KING FAALCON (App T See) began awkwardly.

Approaching the 900m, TENZING (A Munro) had to be eased off the heels of
GOODPACK (M Nunes), which rolled inwards marginally.

Near the 700m, MAURICE UTRILLO (G Cheyne) had to be momentarily
steadied when racing tight between TENZING and DUJARDIN (R Woodworth),
which in turn was carried inwards by LIZARRE (D Bonilla).

Jockey Bonilla, the rider of LIZARRE, was fined a sum of S$500 for making a
celebratory gesture prior to the Finish in terms of MRA Rule 44(12).

Jockey Nunes, when questioned regarding the disappointing performance of
GOODPACK, stated that after beginning a little awkwardly, his mount raced
in a forward position. However, due to the slow pace in the early and middle
stages, the gelding proved difficult to settle. He added that when placed
under pressure after passing the 600m, GOODPACK failed to respond to his
riding and was disappointing over the concluding stages. His explanation
was noted. A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on
GOODPACK which revealed no apparent abnormality.

Jockey Woodworth, when questioned regarding the performance of
DUJARDIN, stated that after taking up a forward position in the early stages,
he was then forced to race in a position worse than midfield when a number
of runners to its outside improved along the backstraight due to the slow
pace. Jockey Woodworth added that DUJARDIN ran on fairly in the
homestraight. His explanation was noted. DUJARDIN was impounded for
routine veterinary and analytical examination. The Veterinary Surgeon
reported that the horse exhibited signs of respiratory distress after the race.
DUJARDIN will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary
examination prior to being declared to race again.
