GENERAL REPORT(S)
RACE 7 (R975) Class 4 1200M (sc), 1ST DAY, SATURDAY, 21ST JULY 2012,
PERAK TURF CLUB SULTAN GOLD VASE MEETING 2012
The Stewards concluded an inquiry into the shadow roll becoming undone after jumping
on WIENER. Jockey J Shankar stated that he noticed that the nose strap was lose on the
way to the barriers and requested it to be refitted. Jockey J Shankar further stated that he
again noticed that the nose strap was lose and requested it to be refitted again. He stated
that he did observe the refitting of the nose strap and was satisfied when being placed into
the barriers. He said that WIENER became restless prior to jumping which may have
contributed to the nose strap becoming lose again which resulted in the shadow roll to
become undone shortly after the start. Jockey J Shankar stated that he then attempted to
remove the shadow roll, placing him at a disadvantage for a number of strides. His
explanation was noted.

RACE 8 (R976) Class 4 1200M (sc), 1ST DAY, SATURDAY, 21ST JULY 2012,
PERAK TURF CLUB SULTAN GOLD VASE MEETING 2012
When questioned regarding the performance of NO UNCERTAINTY, Jockey J Low
stated that he was instructed to jump well, sit midfield and do his best to win. He said that
Trainer Dr SH Tan advised him that NO UNCERTAINTY hung out on the turn in its last
start and to be aware of the geldings actions. Jockey J Low stated that after jumping well
and travelling midfield, NO UNCERTAINTY had a tendency to lay outwards and when
he urged his mount along approaching the turn, NO UNCERTAINTY improved its
position slightly. Jockey J Low further stated that when he asked for an effort in the home
straight, NO UNCERTAINTY did not respond as expected and was disappointing. His
explanation was noted.
Trainer Dr SH Tan confirmed the instructions and advised the Stewards that NO
UNCERTAINTY had been working well in its trackwork and expected to run a good race
but was disappointing. He further stated that NO UNCERTAINTY had pulled up well
after its last start win on 8th July 2012 in Penang, however, believes that the gelding will
be more suited over a bit more ground. Trainer Dr SH Tan advised the Stewards that he
could find no abnormalities after the gelding had cooled down today. His explanation was
noted.
