STIPE'S REPORT RACE 3 [TF949] HELLO AUSTRALIA STAKES 1400M CLASS 4 DIVISION 1 MARCUSINO (G Cheyne) began awkwardly and lost ground. Shortly after the start, BOSS CAN I CAN (O Chavez) steadied when crowded between TOP SHELF (SH Low) and TAVAN BOGD (S Baster), which shifted inwards away from ASPEN HEIGHTS (J Saimee). Passing the 1000m, AFTERNOON DELIGHT (App WX Wong) steadied when awkwardly placed on the heels of ZAC VELOCITY (J Moreira). Passing the 800m, MARCUSINO steadied when RIMSKY (I Saifudin) mis- strode and shifted outwards after racing tight to the inside of AFTERNOON DELIGHT. Making the turn into the straight, BOSS CAN I CAN steadied when crowded between TAVAN BOGD, which rolled inwards and DANNY (D Beasley), which shifted outwards to improve. Near the 200m, CHIVE BLOOM (I Santana) checked when crowded between SIR FLEETWOOD (S Sam), which rolled outwards and ZAC VELOCITY, which laid inwards and despite the efforts of its rider, ZAC VELOCITY was unable to relieve the pressure when racing tight to the inside of CONVICT (O Bosson). Shortly after passing the 200m, ZAC VELOCITY checked when racing to the inside of CONVICT. An Inquiry into this incident will be held at a date to be fixed. Near the 100m, ZAC VELOCITY checked when racing to the inside of AFTERNOON DELIGHT. CHIVE BLOOM, which was racing to the inside of ZAC VELOCITY, was also inconvenienced in this incident. An Inquiry into this incident will be held at a date to be fixed. BOSS CAN I CAN was inclined to hang inwards in the straight placing its rider at a disadvantage. The Farrier reported that TOP SHELF returned having cast its off-hind plate. A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on MARCUSINO which revealed no apparent abnormality. ZAC VELOCITY and TAVAN BOGD were both impounded for routine veterinary and analytical examination. The Veterinary Surgeon reported no apparent abnormality. Following the running of Race 3, Jockey Sam, the rider of SIR FLEETWOOD, was examined by the Course Medical Officer who declared him unfit to fulfil his remaining riding engagements.
