RACE 1 (R889) FLYING CHARGER HANDICAP - Class 5 1100m
BEING CLASSIC, a course scratching as it was sore in its left loin region, will be
required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
TERMINATOR ATTACK (App A Nawawi) jumped awkwardly with its head up.
LITTLE RAINFOREST (M Helmy) fly-jumped.
TOSHI TOSHI (K Eirwan) jumped awkwardly and shortly afterwards, was crowded for
room between AJAY STAR (O Chavez) and MAKESOMEMONEY (M Zaidi) which
shifted inwards away from SUPERFLY SISTER (S Salee). TOSHI TOSHI lost ground
in this incident.
Shortly after the start, LITTLE RAINFOREST was momentarily crowded for room
between WONDERFUL GIFT (C Goon) and AJAY STAR which rolled inwards.
WONDERFUL GIFT showed no early pace, despite being urged along.
MAKESOMEMONEY raced wide home turn.
The Stewards questioned Trainer MH Wee regarding the apparent improved performance
of LITTLE RAINFOREST, compared to its last start on the 5th of May 2012 when
LITTLE RAINFOREST finished 7th, beaten 18¼ lengths in a Restricted Maiden
handicap, 1400M. He stated that he instructed Jockey M Helmy to ride in a forward
position today in the small field, which were the same instructions given at its last start in
Penang, however, on that occasion when ridden by Jockey TM Wan, Trainer Wee said
that the rider was unable to race forward as instructed, due to the heavy track and he felt
that LITTLE RAINFOREST did not handle the heavy going. Trainer Wee further stated
that although he was surprised with the win today, he felt that LITTLE RAINFOREST
would run a good race, as he had given LITTLE RAINFOREST a lot of trackwork,
leading into todays race. Trainer MH Wees attention was drawn to the Rules regarding
in-and-out running and to maintain the geldings consistent performances in future. His
explanations were noted.
MAKESOMEMONEY (M Zaidi) which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test
(1000M/vet) before being entered to race again.
App A Nawawi, the rider of TERMINATOR ATTACK reported that the gelding was not
striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of TERMINATOR ATTACK
revealed that the gelding returned lame off fore and will be required to pass a test
(1000M/vet) before being entered to race again.
A post-race veterinary examination of MAKESOMEMONEY revealed no obvious
abnormality.
