STIPE'S REPORT RACE 3 (R883) Class 5  1400m SUPREME ISTANA which was down 27kgs, Y BEND which was down 15kgs and INCREDIBLE GENERAL which was up 27kgs in body weight since their last run, were checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and were passed fit to race. Trainer Richard Lines was fined RM200 each for failing to ensure that SMART VENTURE (App M Ganeesh) and NATURAL QUALITY (SH Lee) were presented to the holding yard within the stipulated time. Y BEND (K Eirwan) jumped awkwardly and thereafter showed no early pace. INCREDIBLE KING (M Djulkifli) jumped awkwardly. NATURAL QUALITY faltered on jumping. MADAM JADE (App I Fadzlei) was slowly away. STRAIGHT MONEY (BN Shahrul) raced wide throughout. Near the 400M, SMILING MELANG (HK Cheng) which was improving, switched outwards across the heels of STRAIGHT MONEY in order to obtain clear running. From the 400M to the 200M, INCREDIBLE KING was held up when disappointed for a run behind SERDANG MAN (KT Cheng). When questioned regarding the performance of TERROR, jockey J Shankar stated that he was instructed to get a good jump and sit midfield in 5th, 6th, 7th position. Jockey Shankar stated that he was unable to be midfield as he steadied shortly after the start off the heels of INCREDIBLE KING (M Djulkifli) which shifted inwards. Jockey Shankar stated that as a result, his mount commenced to race with its head up and approaching the 1000M, he had to steady when crowded for room between INCREDIBLE KING and SMILING MELANG (HK Cheng), both of which shifted ground. Jockey Shankar further stated that he felt TERROR was not striding out freely during the race. The Stewards told Jockey Shankar that they were not entirely happy with his ride in that he should have used his initiative to urge his mount forward to hold his position and to sit midfield as instructed. The Stewards told Jockey J Shankar to ride in a manner so as to leave no room for query. His explanations were noted. When questioned, Trainer LN Danis confirmed the instructions and stated that TERROR had missed the start and was unable to race midfield as instructed. A post-race veterinary examination of TERROR revealed that the gelding returned lame off-fore and with respiratory distress. TERROR will be required to pass a test (1000m/vet) before being entered to race again. TERROR was impounded. Post-race veterinary examinations of AROWANA FRONTIER (M Helmy), JERAM LIONCITY (TM Wan) and Y BEND revealed no obvious abnormality. Jockey M Ganeesh, the rider of SMART VENTURE was fined RM500 for negligence under MRA Rule 152 (5)(a) in that he had dropped his whip at about the 200M. M Djulkifli will be questioned regarding his ride on INCREDIBLE KING at a date to be fixed.
