STIPE'S REPORT RACE 1 [TF763] CLASS 5 1000M Trainer J OHara was fined a sum of S$200 for negligence in terms of MRA Rule 152(5)(a) in that he failed to submit his request for App CS Chin to ride JEWEL PRINCESS without claiming his full allowance within the prescribed time at Declarations. URBAN LEGEND (M Suhaimi) was slow to begin. LUCKY BANKER (HK Cheng) and CALIFORNIA KID (App R Shafiq) bumped on jumping. Near the 900m, SILVER LEGEND (B Vorster) was momentarily steadied when crowded between DECISIVE (I Azhar) and MIDLIFE CRISIS (I Saifudin), which shifted inwards. Near the 800m, MIDLIFE CRISIS was hampered when CALIFORNIA KID shifted inwards away from WHYDOYOUASK (I Santana). SILVER LEGEND, which was following, was hampered in consequence. SWITCH DOUBLEMISTY raced wide without cover throughout. SILVER LEGEND hung outwards on the hometurn. Passing the 200m, WHYDOYOUASK steadied when crowded between RAPID REWARDS (A Munro), which rolled outwards and SWITCH DOUBLEMISTY, which laid inwards under pressure. Approaching the Winning Post, WHYDOYOUASK again steadied when SWITCH DOUBLEMISTY continued to lay inwards. Jockey Vorster, when questioned regarding the disappointing performance of SILVER LEGEND, stated that after suffering crowding shortly after the start, SILVER LEGEND failed to master sufficient pace to take up a forward position. He added that SILVER LEGEND travelled only fairly throughout and failed to run on when placed under pressure from the 700m. His explanation was noted. SILVER LEGEND was impounded for routine veterinary and analytical examination. The Veterinary Surgeon reported that the horse exhibited signs of respiratory distress after the race. SILVER LEGEND will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.
