RACE 9 [TF759]
STEWARDS CUP LC (C) 1400M
SPORE-G2
As there was no similar rider available, the Stewards gave permission for App
TH Koh to replace Jockey M Ewe on ECLAIR FLYER.
BORN TO FLY (I Saifudin), which kicked out in the gate, was taken out,
examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, passed fit to race and reloaded.
Trainer S Gray was advised that a warning has been placed on BORN TO FLY
regarding its barrier manners and to take steps to improve them or action
may be taken in future.
DYNASTY KNIGHT (Alan Ng), which was difficult to be loaded into the barrier,
will be required to pass one starting stall test prior to being declared to race
again in terms of MRA Rule 78(2).
BAHEN (J Powell), which was difficult to be loaded in the barrier, will be
required to pass one starting stall test prior to being declared to race again in
terms of MRA Rule 78(2).
AROWANA DOT COM (J Verenzuela) and ECLAIR FLYER were both crowded
on jumping between DYNASTY KNIGHT and NANDOWRA (G Cheyne), both of
which shifted ground.
Shortly after the start, LIGHTNING THIEF (M Kellady) shifted outwards and
made contact with GRAND ARRIVAL (B Vorster) on a couple of occasions.
WONT STOP (O Chavez) raced wide without cover throughout.
Near the 1100m, DYNASTY KNIGHT steadied when awkwardly placed to the
inside of AROWANA DOT COM, which rolled inwards. Jockey Verenzuela was
subsequently shown the film of the incident and warned to exercise greater
care when shifting ground in future.
Passing the 200m, BAHEN momentarily steadied when AROWANA DOT COM
rolled inwards under pressure.
Following the running of Race 9, Jockey Powell, the rider of BAHEN, was
examined by the Course Medical Officer who declared him unfit to fulfil his
remaining riding engagements.
