STIPE'S REPORT RACE 1 [TF704] SINGAPORE AIRLINES A380 SYDNEY STAKES 1400M CLASS 4 SACRED DEW (App Z Zuriman), which was restless in the barrier, momentarily cast its near-hind leg, was taken out, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, passed fit to race and reloaded. Trainer J OHara was advised that a warning has been placed on SACRED DEW regarding its barrier manners and to take steps to improve them or action may be taken in future. SACRED DEW began awkwardly and shortly after the start, steadied when ROUGH DANCE (M Suhaimi) shifted inwards. Approaching the 1300m, ANG PAO KERETA (S Sam) and RECYCLE WORLD (J McDonald) both lost ground when crowded between SACRED DEW and ASPEN HEIGHTS (J Verenzuela), which shifted outwards away from EXCITING AHEAD (O Bosson). Near the 800m, TRIP TO BRAZIL (B Vorster) checked when racing between ASPEN HEIGHTS and GYPSY MAGIC (I Saifudin) to its outside and EXCITING AHEAD to its inside. IMACRUISER (J Moreira) and ANG PAO KERETA, which were both following, were hampered in consequence. An Inquiry into this incident will be held at a date to be fixed. GYPSY MAGIC raced wide without cover throughout. ROUGH DANCE laid inwards under pressure in the straight. Jockey Verenzuela, the rider of ASPEN HEIGHTS, reported that his horse was not striding out freely. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed that the horse returned lame near-fore. ASPEN HEIGHTS will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again. EXCITING AHEAD was impounded for routine veterinary and analytical examination. The Veterinary Surgeon reported no apparent abnormality. Jockey D Beasley, the rider of JERAM CLIPPER, was fined a sum of S$500 for making a celebratory gesture prior to the Finish in terms of MRA Rule 44(12).
