When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of NORTH TO ALASKA,
Jockey SH Lee advised the Stewards that he was instructed to lead, if not sit handy, 2nd or
3rd and to make his move near the 500M. Jockey SH Lee further stated that when he
asked for an effort from NORTH TO ALASKA, his mount did not respond as expected
and gave ground over the concluding stages of the race. He added that he believed
NORTH TO ALASKA did not handle the heavy track with the top weight of 57kgs.
His explanation was noted. As Trainer PK Leong had left the course, the Stewards will
question him regarding the disappointing performance of NORTH TO ALASKA at a date
to be fixed. A post-race veterinary examination of NORTH TO ALASKA revealed no
obvious abnormality.
When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of ABEYANT, Jockey K
Eirwan advised the Stewards that he was instructed to go forward, to sit handy, 2nd or 3rd
and make his move near the 400M. He further stated that when he asked for an effort
from ABEYANT, his mount did not respond as expected and was disappointing. He
further stated that ABEYANT was having its first start from a long spell and also having
its first start on a new track after previously racing in Singapore. His explanation was
noted. As Trainer KM Noordin had left the course, the Stewards will question him
regarding the disappointing performance of ABEYANT at a date to be fixed. A post-race
veterinary examination of ABEYANT revealed no obvious abnormality. The gelding was
impounded.
