RACE 12 [TF278]
OUR ARISTOTLE 2001 HANDICAP
CLASS 4 SC (D) 1400M
Shortly after the start, THE CINDERELLA MAN (O Chavez) raced tight for a
short distance to the inside of MALINGISA (S Baster).
Near the 200m, ANG PAO KERETA (I Santana) steadied off the heels of
HOPKINS (J Moreira), which shifted outwards.
Jockey O Bosson, the rider of OK OK, reported that the gelding had returned
with its saddle having shifted back during the running.
HOPKINS was impounded for routine veterinary and analytical examination.
The Veterinary Surgeon reported no apparent abnormality.
GENERAL
SINGAPORE FEBRUARY MEETING 2012
FRIDAY, 10 FEBRUARY 2012:
RACE 9 [TF219]
On Sunday, 19 February 2012, the Stewards concluded an Inquiry into the
reasons for STREET RUFFIAN (O Chavez) having to check when racing
between AFFIRMATION (G Cheyne) and AWAKENED (S Baster) near the
250m. It was established that near the 250m, AWAKENED shifted outwards
away from the heels of NATURAL NICE (KB Soo), which shifted in under
pressure. As a result STREET RUFFIAN had to be eased off the heels of
AWAKENED. In the circumstances, no blame could be attributed to any rider
and as such, no further action was taken. However, Jockey Baster and
Jockey Soo were both warned and advised that they must exercise greater
care when shifting ground in future.
