STIPE'S REPORT RACE 4 (R117) Class 4  1200M (short course-A) TOSHI TOSHI which was up 17 kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start. GREAT FRIENDS and ROXY STAR jumped away slowly. TOSHI TOSHI jumped away awkwardly. Racing to the 800M, ALWAYS SUCCESS raced ungenerously and threw its head about. Racing to the 600M, ALWAYS SUCCESS raced ungenerously and threw its head about. Racing to the 250M, MAKEMEAMILLION shifted out resulting in ALWAYS SUCCESS having to be steadied and changed course inwards to obtain a clear running. App HS Gill, the rider of MAKEMEAMILLION was severely reprimanded and was told to exercise more care in future. S Cook, the trainer of DELTA WING, explained that the stable was surprised by the geldings winning today. He considered that the wet conditions and the pace of the race had helped DELTA WING improved. He also explained that the gelding worked well and had an easy run in the race which in his opinion allowed it to finish off strongly. His explanation was noted by the Stewards. All riders returned to scale an average of 2 to 2 ½ kg overweight due to the adverse weather conditions.
