RESTRICTED MAIDEN LC (D) 1200M
WEIGHT FOR AGE
(2 & 3 YEARS OLD)
BALE (J Moreira), SHADOW MAN (D Beasley) and EMBLESSED (App R Shafiq)
were all restless in the barriers. Trainers C Brown, H Takaoka and Dr KC
Yeoh were advised that warnings have been placed on BALE, SHADOW MAN
and EMBLESSED regarding their barrier manners and to take steps to
improve them or action may be taken in future respectively.
LUCKY BET (YF Leong) was fractious in the barrier.
PROFOUND (J Saimee), which jumped away awkwardly, lost ground when
crowded between SHADOW MAN, which rolled inwards and TIKAM TIKAM (S
John), which rolled outwards.
SPINNING SUCCESS (B Vorster) and LUCKY BET bumped on jumping.
Shortly after the start, BALE was crowded between IRISH COFFEE (V Duric)
and MARATHON LAD (J Verenzuela), which shifted inwards.
LUCKY BET was difficult to settle in the backstraight and approaching the
800m, shifted outwards when racing keenly and made contact with BALE.
Passing the 700m, LUCKY BET, which was racing keenly, had to be checked
off the heels of EMBLESSED when racing tight to the inside of BALE. At the
same time, TIKAM TIKAM, which was racing to the inside of LUCKY BET, had
to be eased off the heels of SHADOW MAN.
COOL LUKE (App TH Koh) raced wide throughout.
PROFOUND raced greenly throughout.
FEARLESS ELITE (App JL Li), which raced poorly, will be required to pass a
1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being declared to race
The Veterinary Surgeon reported that LUCKY BET returned with blood in its
nostrils. However, upon an endoscopy examination, the blood was found to
come from trauma in the sinus area and as such, LUCKY BET was not a
bleeder as defined under MRA Rules of Racing. LUCKY BET will be required
to pass a 1000m gallop trial from the barrier and a veterinary examination
prior to being declared to race again.
BALE was impounded for routine veterinary and analytical examination. The
Veterinary Surgeon reported no apparent abnormality. BALE, which raced
poorly, will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary
examination prior to being declared to race again.
PROFOUND was impounded for routine veterinary and analytical
examination. The Veterinary Surgeon reported that the horse returned
having debris in its trachea.
