RACE 2 [TF1234]
INITIATION POLYTRACK 1200M
THE CARDINAL (J Verenzuela), which was fractious in the barrier, will be
required to pass one starting stall test prior to being declared to race again in
terms of MRA Rule 78(2).
MR MAFEI (App TH Koh) was slow to begin.
THE CARDINAL shifted outwards abruptly on jumping and in so doing,
severely inconvenienced RED SENSATION (J Moreira), which made contact
with CALOMBARIS (D Beasley), which in turn bumped RED GLORY (YF Leong)
out onto DUELLO (A Munro).
MIGHTY CREATION (O Chavez), which raced wide early, hung outwards badly
near the 800m placing its rider at a disadvantage. MIGHTY CREATION will be
required to pass a 1000m gallop trial from the barrier and a veterinary
examination prior to being declared to race again.
Approaching the 300m, RED GLORY had to be checked after racing up onto
the heels of THE CARDINAL. Shortly after, RED GLORY was again
inconvenienced when THE CARDINAL rolled outwards and MIGHTY CREATION
rolled inwards.
A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on RED SENSATION
which revealed no apparent abnormality.
Following the running of Race 2, Jockey Verenzuela, the rider of THE
CARDINAL, was examined by the Course Medical Officer who declared him
unfit to fulfil his remaining riding engagements.
