RACE 5 [TF505]
PAN MALAYSIAN POOLS TROPHY 2011
INITIATION SC (B) 1200M
Due to the objection in Race 3, this race was put back five minutes and
rescheduled to start at 1455Hrs.
Trainer B Marcus was fined a sum of S$500 in terms of MRA Rule 35(1) in
that VERMICULITE (KB Soo) was presented without Winkers which was part
of its approved gear.
VEMICULITE began awkwardly.
Shortly after the start, VIPER MAN (App S Sahren) and WHOOSHKA ( J
Powell) were both crowded between ROCKY GARDEN (S John) and THE
IDEAL ONE (YF Leong).
THE IDEAL ONE was difficult to settle in the early stages and hung outwards
badly from the 800m.
Making the turn into the straight, PREDICTABLE (R Stewart) was buffeted
between WHOOSHKA and ZEEBEER (I Andy).
Approaching the 100m, GOOD FUTURE (O Placais) steadied off the heels of
ROCKY GARDEN, which was carried inwards slightly by BRILLIANT RULER (O
Chavez).
READY TO STRIKE (App S Noh) was inclined to lay inwards under pressure in
the straight.
Jockey Placais, the rider of GOOD FUTURE, reported that his horse was not
striding out freely. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed no
apparent abnormality.
A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on THE IDEAL ONE
which revealed no apparent abnormality. THE IDEAL ONE, which hung
outwards badly, will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial from the barrier
and a veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.
Jockey M Kellady, the rider of ASANTI, stated that he was instructed to race
off the pace. However, after jumping well, he found himself racing in a more
forward position than anticipated. Trainer S Burridge confirmed his
instructions and that it would be his intention to continue to instruct riders to
have ASANTI ridden off pace if circumstances permit.
