Korea: Busan Racecourse - Friday November 27, 2015

Race 4: Class 6 / 1300M / Allowance / KRW 25 Million / 12:25 (SIN)

Quite a competitive opener but (9) SEONGHO JEONGSANG is the slight pick having defeated (10) OCEAN LINE by four lengths when they ran 2nd and 3rd respectively over this distance on November 6th. The latter too should be in contention, having never finished any worse than 4th while (6) VICAR SARANG comes in following a career best 2nd place last start and although he is going to need to find further improvement here, he may be considered. (5) FOUR STAR and (2) HWANHUIUI BYEOL are others who can compete.

Selections: (9) Seongho Jeongsang (10) Ocean Line (2) Hwanhuiui Byeol (6) Vicar Sarang

Race 5: Class 5 / 1400M / Handicap / KRW 40 Million / 13:15 (SIN)

(5) DANGDAE QUEEN is two for two so far and while both those wins have come at the minimum distance, she can be backed to maintain her 100% record here. The main danger is (3) YUSEONG TIGER who is up in class here following her maiden victory last time on what was just her second start. (7) NANDA DORI, a winner over 1300M in August, beat a couple of these when racing 3rd over this distance earlier this month and may go well while (10) MISS BLUE has won at this class although will need to find more here at this distance. (2) ANY NINE struggled in Busan’s top juvenile race last month but has potential.

Selections: (5) Dangdae Queen (3) Yuseong Tiger (2) Any Nine (7) Nanda Dori

Race 6: Class 5 / 1300M / Handicap / KRW 40 Million / 14:05 (SIN)

Three up-and-comers are up in class today following maiden wins on their last start and of them it is (7) ZETTABYTE, a fifteen length winner over 1200M on November 6th, who looks to have the most serious claims. He will look to lead all the way. Three-year-old (2) EVANGELINE is from Busan’s top stable and she beat Seongho Jeongsang and Ocean Line, who we saw running in race 4, when getting her maiden win on the same day. (5) SHARP LINE is the up in class one who has the most to find but he too can’t be ruled out. (11) KWAEHAN JILJU was disappointing last start but is a proven winner at this level with (3) SAMRAMANSANG, a solid 2nd at this distance last time out, another to consider.

Selections: (7) Zettabyte (2) Evangeline (11) Kwaehan Jilju (3) Samramansang

Race 7: Class 3 / 1000M / Handicap / KRW 70 Million / 14:55 (SIN)

(8) SINHEUNG GOSU beat (1) BARAM TAN into 2nd by a neck at odds of 20/1 when the pair met on October 23rd at 1200M and dropped back to the minimum today, both are in contention once again. They will not have it their own way though with plenty in contention. (10) WORLD LOVE is a three-time winner at this distance and may well be too quick here while (6) STAR MYEONGUN is up in class following some very solid showings recently. (7) GRAGEO is badly behaved and has a tendency to either unseat his jockey or to run wide. He is quick though and if he runs properly, has every chance.

Selections: (10) World Love (8) Sinheung Gosu (7) Grageo (6) Star Myeongun

Race 8: Class 4 / 1200M / Handicap / KRW 55 Million / 15:45 (SIN)

(1) JIBONG STAR and (3) TANK POWER look to be the ones to head the market here. Both come in following decent 2nd places over this distance on their most recent starts and both look nicely in to match or improve here. (8) KOREAN TANK is up in class following two consecutive wins while (9) MASTER KEY final got it right at the 10th time of asking on her most recent appearance, however, both will need to find plenty of improvement here. (10) JAYU DAERO was 4th on his first attempt at this class a month ago and can improve today.

Selections: (1) Jibong Star (8) Korean Tank (3) Tank Power (10) Jayu Daero

Race 9: Class 4 / 1600M / Handicap / KRW 55 Million / 16:10 (SIN)

(1) REALLY KING looks well in here as a Korean bred horse who has already won his way up to class 4, taking on slightly weaker imported opposition (who have to begin their careers at this level). He has had almost two months off since a 2nd place over 1800M and can win this. Bart Rice’s (9) ACE SINHWA also has claims though. She was 3rd in a race over 1400M just two weeks ago and can improve today. The time before that, Ace Sinhwa was beaten three-lengths by (4) PANGPANG HERO and that one too can be competitive while (13) FIRST MOVER and (6) IRON TRAIN may also be considered for places.

Selections: (1) Really King (9) Ace Sinhwa (13) First Mover (4) Pangpang Hero

Race 10: Class 2 / 1600M / Handicap / KRW 85 Million / 16:35 (SIN)

(1) MIRACLE LINE was 3rd over this distance on his first attempt at class 2 at the beginning of this month and should be looking for his fourth career-win here. (3) JUNGANG DAEHAE, (7) FURIOUS PARK and (6) YANKEE DREAM ran 2nd, 3rd and 4th in a race over 1800M at the end of October, which was won by an outsider. All three are in contention again today with Furious Park perhaps having the most serious claims. (8) GYEOUL WANGGUK was out of her depth in a the final leg of the Queens’ Tour on November 1st but should be given another chance in this company while (9) KING OF BEST never pushed on form a spectacular start to his career but a return to form can’t be ruled out.

Selections: (1) Miracle Line (7) Furious Park (3) Jungang Daehae (8) Gyeoul Wangguk

Race 11: Class 3 / 1400M / Handicap / KRW 70 Million / 17:00 (SIN)

(4) GAKBYEOLHAN comes in after consecutive wins at 1200M and a mile has every chance of making it three in a row here. (6) PALMAUI SEONDU chased him home three lengths adrift that day and while the latter can also go well again, he isn’t likely to be the main threat. That could well be (2) QUIET RAPTOR, who is a winner at this level but does tend to have a habit of finishing 2nd. He may well do so again. (5) BARRETTES MARINE beat three of these with a front-running performance over 1200M on October 25th and should be going well again. In 3rd place that day was (11) WOOA, who was making just his second start following victory on his debut and he too can be considered. Also not to be discounted are the up in class pair of (3) GIMAKHIN SEONTAEK and (12) BADA DOSI, who were 1st and 2nd in a race over this distance on November 1st and they can go well in what is a nice competitive race to close with.

Selections: (4) Gakbyeolhan (11) Wooa (2) Quiet Raptor (5) Barettes Marine
