Korea Race Comments – Friday March 13, 2015

Busan Race 4: Class 5 /1200M / Handicap / KRW 40 Million / 12:50 (SIN)

(12) BIT BLADE was a winner by 4-lengths on his debut a month ago. He is up in class and distance here but can follow-up. (11) WONIL ROOKIE, a half brother of Grand Prix Stakes winner Gyeongbudaero, returns almost four months after landing his maiden victory on his second start and must be considered. (9) JANGGUNBONG also got his maiden victory last time out at the start of February and although he will need to show improvement today, has every chance of putting in a strong performance. (6) SEORABEOL GONGJU was 5th over this distance last time out in stiffer company and can go better. (10) DANDIHAERA comes in after three consecutive 2nd place finishes and should be competing again while (1) GRAGEO can improve on his 6th last time.

Selections: (11) Wonil Rookie (12) Bit Blade (9) Janggunbong (6) Seorabeol Gongju

Busan Race 5: Class 5 / 1400M /Allowance / KRW 40 Million / 13:40 (SIN)

(4) WILD ROSE was a winner over this distance last time out and with further development can strike again today. It won’t be easy. (9) PERFECT LADY beat both (11) WORLD QUICK and (12) CELLO SONATA last time out and both have claims to overturn that form today with World Quick slightly favored. (13) PATTAYA got her maiden victory a month ago and can go well once more. (14) SUNDAY STAR, who was 4th in that race behind Perfect Lady, and (8) PANDORA both merit consideration too.

Selections: (11) World Quick (4) Wild Rose (9) Perfect Lady (13) Pattaya

Busan Race 6: Class 4 / 1200M / Handicap / KRW 55 Million / 14:30 (SIN)

(9) JINGYEOKUI JILJU got her 2nd career win last start and while she is dropped in against imported horses today, there shouldn’t be too much to fear here. Trainer Peter Wolsley saddled his 300th Korean winner last week and this one looks craftily entered to get number 301. (12) SECRET LINE was a solid 2nd last time out and can challenge again while (5) RUNNING SCORE, who was behind Secret Line last time, has shown improvement in each of four career starts and can continue to do so today. Newcomer (7) HOPPANG comfortably won his race trial, albeit in a slow time, and can make a positive impression on his debut. (10) GAMGYEOKUI MANAM has only run twice and has scope for improvement here.

Selections: (9) Jingyeokui Jilju (12) Secret Line (7) Hoppang (5) Running Score

Busan Race 7: Class 4 / 1400M / Handicap / KRW 55 Million / 15:20 (SIN)

(1) RED VIC was a gate to wire winner over 1300M at class 5 a month ago and while this will be tougher, he can repeat. The Kim Young Kwan trained (4) SINSEGYE GANGJA returns after a 6-month layoff and finds himself in much more agreeable company than he was racing against before and he can go close here. (3) HAPPY GOLD is yet to win from 11 career starts but usually finds the minor places and should at least do so again. (8) SPEED BATTLE and (5) GUMPO ANGEL both have placing chances.

Selections: (1) Red Vic (4) Sinsegye Gangja (3) Happy Gold (8) Speed Battle

Busan Race 8: Class 3 / 1600M / Handicap / KRW 70 Million / 16:10 (SIN)

After an indifferent debut, (4) CHAMP LINE has won four races in a row and will be strongly favored to make it five here. He is the banker favorite of the afternoon. Nevertheless, (1) CHEONHAENG JILJU and (2) CHEONSANGUI JILJU both come in following victories over this distance in their most recent starts – and both in quicker times than Champ Line – and can’t be ruled out of upsetting the favorite. (6) DAEJIUI YOJEONG has faced superior opposition in his most recent two starts and should go much better today while (8) JOKWANG also has placing chances.

Selections: (4) Champ Line (6) Daejiui Yojeong (1) Cheonhaeng Jilju (2) Cheonsangui Jilju

Busan Race 9: Class 3 / 1600M / Handicap / KRW 70 Million / 16:35 (SIN)

(7) CHOEGANG PLUS has won three of five to date and comes in on a hat-trick. She is up in distance today but has solid claims. A few of the others faced each other over this distance on February 15 with (9) HIGH TOUCH having finished 2nd, a couple of places ahead of (1) STELLAR CHAMP. Both should be in contention again today. (10) NAMDO TRACK KING was sent off at short odds in that race and despite being a disappointing 11th, can go much better today. (5) PALMAUI SEONDU was 4th behind Choegang Plus on his last start and should be considered for the money again.

Selections: (7) Choegang Plus (9) High Touch (1) Stellar Champ (5) Palmaui Seondu

Busan Race 10: Class 2 / 1800M / Handicap / KRW 85 Million / 17:00 (SIN)

(3) CHUKJE MELODY beat (8) MEANESTBOYINTOWN over 1900M on February 6 and they renew hostilities here with the former once more looking the likeliest. (9) FERVENT STORM and (6) PERFECT JILJU came home 2nd and 3rd behind Strictly Two Step last time out and both merit consideration. (12) GANGNAM CAMP has flattered to deceive since his opening two victories although a return to form can’t be completely ruled out.

Selections: (3) Chukje Melody (9) Fervent Storm (6) Perfect Jilju (8) Meanestboyintown
