Club Licensed Jockey Criteria

The Singapore Turf Club also grants Club-Licensed Jockey Licences to overseas jockeys who wish to ride on a freelance or sponsored basis during Singapore race meetings. The Club-Licensed Jockey Licences are approved based on the following criteria:

Applicants who rank amongst the top placings specified by the Singapore Turf Club in his or her licensing country, major state, region or circuit. Performance over the current and the preceding racing season may be considered; or
Applicants who are Internationally renowned jockeys with an above average rate of successes in major cups, Group or International races

Applicants must not have a disqualification or a suspension of six months or more in his riding career, nor possess any criminal record. The Club may consider occasional request for a visiting licence received from a jockey who does not meet the above criteria, which may include:

Leading Lady Riders
Champion Apprentices
Riders from America/Canada/UK or European Countries

These applicants will be considered on their individual merits.

The Club reserves the right to reject any application even when the jockey nominated fulfils all the conditions and criteria above.
